Points App Reviews

not so good as we think

For this price is not so good, the interface not fluid, no support multi-tach. Very few photo for détail. And no chinese name.

Student of acupuncture

Great program for studying. Really like the quize mode, really good descriptions of all the points. I hope theres a Chinese herbs app comming soon. !

Overpriced

I paid 20 dollars. Felt a bit ripped off after it dropped in price. Thats why it got the rating of 3

overpriced for value

Nice pictures but without a search function makes this a good tool for students. A practitioner should save their money.

Very handy application!

I like the left and right to flip through accupoints, it could be a little more smoother. Can you make up and down to flip through diferent maridian lines? Thanks! - please do not advertising you other software at loading!

Quiz option

Useful app! The one thing the quiz mode needs is an option that just gives the code (e.g. KI3). Then you would have to think of where it is and what the indications are, which is how many acu courses test, and also a good way to memorize the points. Also, it could really use multitasking. For 20 bucks, I hope you can update these features and I will gladly rate this app 5 stars and recommend everyone in my class to buy the app!

This is great!

This is very handy for both student and practitioner as a nice little quick reference guide. The only thing its missing is needle insertion info. But for $20 I can use more info about each point such as point combos, 24hr clock/element associations, etc. As a student this gives me a chance to study basic info of the points without carrying around an extra mini-reference book. Good job overall!

Awesome

As an acupuncture student and a pressure point martial artist, this has been wonderful and a fabulous find. I have two recommendations: how about an update that includes angles and depths of insertion and another one for point combinations?

Excellent!

Excellent application, but still needs some work. Some suggestions - an easier way to go forward/backward within a channel when looking at points in succession, rather than having to go back to the main search; more refined location of points (some have cun measurements, some dont); sometimes the app returns to the default search when returning within a channel to find the next point; and the app frequently crashes. With that said, the app is very useful, well designed, and well needed!

Very Handy

I am currently a TCM student and this has been a great tool and really helpul for studying for exams. My only suggestion would be to show cun measurements on the images like in Deadman as well as an option to view the point in relation to the internal anatomy (i.e. navicular tuberosity). The quiz is has a lot of repeats too. But otherwise pretty sweet.

Great but add more

Love the app but it would be even better if I could search by ailments... ie: naussea and then all of the points for naussea appear and a routine to treat would be great also! Thanks for the app!

Great

Love the upgrades now need to make one for herbs!!!!

Very Very Happy

Frankly I think for $5.99 this is one of the best programs on my Ipod. Of course the addition of some things would be great but honestly this program more than met my expectations. Great job and I look forward to the updates. I too would like to see the clock added. I have an intern and she loves this program and will probably buy an ipod touch just to get this to study points for the test.

Love it

I love this app! I only wished I had it during school. I use it to study for boards and keep up with my point info when ever possible. Only con is I wish it had point prescriptions or at least a way we could add them. This is the best acupuncture app out there so far! Well worth the money.

Points program

Excellent program. Very convenient and easy to use interface. Its like having a complete acupuncture atlas inside your itouch/iphone.

New update crashes repeatedly.

I would rate previous version more highly; new update crashes repeatedly.

Can not save "notes"

The program crashed on itouch and had been synchronizing on itunes. I assumed "notes" had been saved. When I went to reinstall the program, all my "notes" were gone. What is the point of having "notes" if they can not be backed up? Otherwise a great program

Pretty Good

The app is pretty good for martial arts applications. Triple Energizer should be Triple Warmer and there are some other differences, but all in all it is a good application. It would be nice if ther accupressure points were differentiated from the rest of the points by a red dot when showing all points, but the bug fix I reported got corrected within a week so their support is good for the application.

Great program...once again!

I love this program and was really impressed that the developers contacted me directly when I reported crashing problems with the 3.0 iphone software upgrade. They fixed it immediately and this new update works perfectly. Kudos to Miranda for their responsiveness and for a great program.

Accuracy concerns

I am concerned that some information is non-standard. For example, the app notes that PC5 is the "Master point for psoriasis" yet A MANUAL OF ACUPUNCTURE (Deadman, Al-Khafaji, Baker), CHINESE ACUPUNCTURE AND MOXIBUSTION (Foreign Language Press, Beijing), and ACUPUNCTURE A COMPREHENSIVE TEXT (Eastland Press) make no reference to the treatment of psoriasis with this point. If this is not an error, then apps would be best to NOT contain sub-system proprietary information but rather stick to what is accepted worldwide as the function of an acupoint. I hope that corrections are made to have this app conform to the accepted cannon of Chinese Medicine.
